TRIVIUM Seek 'Biggest Fans' For Upcoming Video Shoot
June 16, 2005On Tuesday, June 21, TRIVIUM will be shooting a music video for their song "A Gunshot to the Head of Trepidation" in their hometown of Orlando, Fl. Ever the fan-friendly band, TRIVIUM are putting out the call for 300 of their biggest fans to come down and be a part of video. The band is looking for people at least 16 years old, who can commit to showing up on time, and staying the entire day. After the video shoot, TRIVIUM will be preparing for their first ever Ozzfest tour kicking off in July 15 at the Tweeter Center in Mansfield, MA. Lead-singer/guitarist Matt Heafy was recently named a "team captain" along with SLIPKNOT's Joey Jordison, MACHINE HEAD's Robert Flynn and ex-FEAR FACTORY guitarist Dino Cazares and will be writing and recording tracks for the Roadrunner Records' 25th anniversary all-star record on his time off.
Getting up-close and personal with their fans is nothing new to TRIVIUM who, since this time last year, has logged over 150 shows around the world. Starting with last years Road Rage tour with MACHINE HEAD and CHIMAIRA, TRIVIUM have crisscrossed the world bringing thirsty music lovers the songs off "Ascendancy" and their debut album "Ember to Inferno" (Lifeforce Records). In 2005 alone, TRIVIUM opened up for DANZIG and THE DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN as well as playing the most recent Road Rage tour with labelmates 3 INCHES OF BLOOD, STILL REMAINS and THE AGONY SCENE.
Released Mach 15 in the United States, "Ascendancy" rocketed to No. 4 on the Top New Artist chart with 7,000 albums sold and No. 151 on the The Billboard 200 chart. To date, the album has sold over 40,000 copies. In addition, the band was No. 1 for over two months at college and metal radio, a rare feat for a band this early in their career, and the videos for "Like Light to the Flies" and "Pull Harder on the Strings of Your Martyr", continue to be spun on MTV2 and Fuse. In addition, TRIVIUM will appear on the cover of the U.K. weekly rock magazine Kerrang! in July and were nominated for a Metal Hammer award, also playing the awards show.
Formed in 2000 in Orlando, FL, by high school friends Travis Smith (drums) and Matt Heafy, TRIVIUM made a name on the local scene by winning several battle-of-the-bands competitions. After various line-up changes, guitarist Corey Beaulieu joined the group and they released "Ember to Inferno" on Germany's Lifeforce Records in 2003. Bassist Paolo Gregoletto solidified the line-up in 2004.
